The 8 Show Episode 2: Netflix presents an original South Korean thriller show called ‘The 8 Show’. This eight-episodic mind-bending thriller show is in some way similar to Netflix shows like Squid Game and Alice in Borderland. The plot revolves around 8 random people who get hired for a unique show for a hefty amount of prize.
All of them get locked inside a house of 8 rooms, and each minute they earns a large sum of money. How will they survive the show without leaving the house is the core plot of the show.
Episode 2 begins with the 8th-floor person’s flashback. The disoriented girl is wearing a luxurious gown, she reaches the place on the same car. She is pretty much drunk, she rushes inside and jumps into the fake pool. She gets slightly injured at the pool. Later, she chooses her floor number randomly. She takes the 8th-floor card and goes inside her room. She sits on the floor for some time and eventually removes her clothes, she puts everything into the delivery locker.

She burns her current clothes and wears the uniform with a psychotic smile. She witnesses the sudden jump in money count in each minute. She earns 340k per minute, she buys a lot of things for her daily needs and luxury. She buys beds, pillows, bathtubs, books, costumes, tables and mirrors.
Later, she gets 12 sets of meals and water bottles. She eats very much less and uses all the bottles for bathing. At present, everyone is shocked to see 8th Floor room. It’s completely rich and filled with essential things. Everyone felt jealous of the 8th-floor girl, they also were shocked to hear that, she earned pretty much more than others. The earnings per minute are based on the position of the floor. The top floor gets 340k per minute, 7F gets 210k, 6F gets 130k, 5F gets 80k, 4F get 50k , 3F gets 30k , 2F gets 20k and 1F gets 10k.
Down-floor participants felt like it was unfair to divide prices based on the floor. The 7th floor person finds out that, the prize money is calculated by the Fibonacci sequence. The cards were placed according to the order of the Fibonacci sequence only.
Eventually, all participants accepted their fate and started moving forward with their game. They comes to a conclusion to divide the food equally. Starting from the 8th floor, each floor gets a dish box, and in the end, the 1st floor gets five boxes in front of him. The rest of the four boxes will be given to the people who starve and those people eat inside the 1st-floor room.

Later that day, the 8th-floor person buys a fancy dress from the delivery locker and minimises the available time limit. Other participants get angry with her and start shouting at her. The 8th-floor person explains that, when they walk to the top floor, the time limit will be restarted. After hearing her idea, everyone goes to the top floor quickly and the time gets restarted to 24 hours.
The next day, everyone starts running through the stairs to their maximum level to regain the time. After back-to-back running, everyone’s getting exhausted each day, they have only 12 dish boxes and everyone starts starving more. The 7th-floor person proposes a new idea to split everyone into two groups, A &B.
They divided everyone according to odd or even categories. One day A group will run through the stairs, and they get the chance to eat the food, the next day B group will do the same thing, and at the same time, A group will take a rest. Days passed and they kept doing this routine, the 1st-floor person was half handicapped and he barely had the energy to run the whole day. Jin Su and others try their best to fill the vacant space of 1st floor person, while he is tired.
The 1st-floor person tells everyone to send their waste baggage through the delivery to his room. He did his best way to make everyone happy. All of them send their waste baggage to the first floor. 7th-floor person eventually noticed that the time hadn’t go up for some time.

Everyone starts panicking and once again everyone runs to regain the time. At some point, one of the participants gets a sudden seizure, everyone takes her to the delivery door, The 6th-floor man opposes their decision to seek medicine for the seizure. They all put up a fight, Jin su tries his best to get the medicine for her.
He calls the authorities and suddenly the time goes up to 40 hours. The 7th-floor person looks at the camera and tells everyone that the time gets restarted when the show is more entertaining, without any entertainment, any show will fail.
Overall the second dragged a bit. The scenes were repeated many times and the episode had nothing to offer something new and engaging. Only the ending part was positive in this episode. Meanwhile, the characters are still underdeveloped in this episode too. Let’s see how it goes in the next episodes.
