House of Dragon Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
In the next scene, when Criston Cole is walking towards the Small Council, he hears about the replacement of Cole’s members of the King’s guard by Aegon with the king’s drinking fellow men. Then he refused to wear the badge of the ‘Hand of the King’ and placed it in his chair in the Small Council Table.
Daemon Targaryen then manages to go inside Harrenhal. The grace, Sir Simon Strong, Castellan of Harrenhal welcomes him on his knees and takes his side. He offers him food but Daemon is suspicious about food poisoning. Then he asks about Larys Clubfoot, Sir Simon replies that Larys is not a part of his family anymore and they have nothing to do with him now.
Then, Simon asks Daemon about his purpose for arriving at Riverland. Daemon says that Harrenhal is the largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms and hence it can be used as an accommodation place for the 40,000 soldiers to which Simon replies that already in earlier days, Harrenhal was partially destroyed by Targaryen’s Dragon and they will require a good amount of coins to repair it.
Upon getting an unsatisfactory response from Simon, Daemon asks him to let him talk to his superior, Lord Grover Tully but that too gets refused claiming that he is not the right person to discuss this matter as he is not responsible enough. As we are aware, Harrenhal has a history that was even shown in “Games of Thrones” as a cursed place. But one thing is for sure, we all waited a season and a half for it and now finally the war is happening.
Cole knows the importance of capturing Harrenhal and is well aware that to do so, he will require a large number of soldiers so he takes a different approach and plans to march on Harrenhal castle all at once but meanwhile, he gets spotted by Baela everyone aware about his movement.

Honestly, this episode didn’t feel as shocking as the Cheese and Blood Incident in episode 1 or as the fight between Erryk and Arryk in the second one. Episode three was mainly focused on the war build-up which is likely to happen in the coming episodes. What are your thoughts regarding this episode and are you enjoying the entire story so far?
As HBO is trying hard to balance the male and female anatomy shown in shows like House of Dragon and Games of Thrones, The Boys are equally racing up in this game. What are your views on that, do let us know in the comment section below.
