After this strange encounter, Jeon returns to the vacation home to inspect further. He lies to his friend and tells him that the guests are still asleep in order to investigate some more. He finds the entire house, including the bathroom squeaky clean, which he suspects is an attempt to cover up a wrongdoing.
In the next scene at the police station, two juniors discuss the transfer of Yoon Bo-min to such a lonesome town. Owing to her track record, she was given the name ‘It’, for reasons unknown to them. Meanwhile, Yoon settles into her new office, organizes her desk, and places a picture as memorabilia on her table.
At the Lake View Motel, things grow intense as Gu Sang-jun and his wife are called in by the police for questioning. His wife, Eun-gyeong, who witnessed the incident firsthand, appears uneasy and faints, and is allowed to go home and rest. Back at the vacation home, Jeon finds a camera in his friend’s car which recorded the events that unfolded the night before. And what he sees jolts him to the core- a recording of Yoo shoving a heavy suitcase into the trunk and driving off, with no sign of her child.
Gu Sang-jun, under the influence of alcohol, opens up to his friend about the serial killer at the motel. He further puts forth his concern about business at the motel now that such an evil-doing has taken place. Another character who is equally concerned at the time is Jeon as he dabbles between calling the police or putting an end to his delusions. He cleans everything and packs it up to take to the laundromat, where he is told that he has brought two towels less than what he usually brings in for cleaning.
He rushes back to find them, doubting whether they were used to commit the crime he suspects has been committed. He finds the towel which he wrapped on the child to shield him from the rain and his suspicions start turning into concrete evidence. However, his thoughts are disrupted by a knock on the door by Yoon Bo-min, who stopped by to share her business card. She notices the blood stain on his hand to have disappeared and leaves, suspicious of Jeon and his vacation home.
