The Frog Episode 5 Recap
In the meantime, we also repeatedly spot Gi-ho, now older and without his parents, making dubious appearances. First, we see him trying to look for his grandmother, Jong-du’s mother at a hospital. And later, we allegedly see him exiting the apartment of the reporter writing the biography of the killer, who killed himself. This connection can be made by the fact that the ultimate scene of the last episode saw him seated in front of the killer responsible for his family’s downfall.
Yoo on the other hand, is frustrated about not being allowed to enter the villa and having no contact with Jeon. Until one day when the local police officer Kim Seon-tae befriends and invites her. Jeon makes a sudden reappearance and sits down to have dinner with them. He warns Kim about Yoo without disclosing much information. Kim however, is under the illusion that Yoo works for Jeon and the latter illtreats her. Back in Jeon’s room, Yoo comes up with an alternative deal for them to coexist peacefully.
She offers to live together, if not, she threatens to let him in on how she killed her child. With Jeon so helpless, the place was virtually already hers. Jeon loses his cool and strangles Yoo, leaving her only seconds before she is asphyxiated. A seething Kim sees this and goes after Jeon, only to be stopped and distracted by Yoo seducing him.
Jeon drives away, and in the middle of the road spots a wild boar, the same one he claimed to have seen before. In a fit of rage, he attempts to run the boar over but seemingly misses. On returning home, he finds Kim and Yoo sleeping in his bed and vehemently beats Kim for trespassing. The scuffle ends with both of them back at the police station, with Jeon declining to press charges, and offering to forget what happened.
Kim however remains unsatisfied with the series of events and goes back to the vacation home to investigate further. There he finds Jeon’s bag with his laptop and microphone, the pieces of evidence Yoo claimed to have done away with earlier. But before he can do anything about it, he comes across Yoo, who will go to any lengths to hide her reality, and thus, runs him over. While he does manage to call his senior at the police station, his fate gets the best of him.
