Bodkin Series Ending Explained: Netflix presents a mystery thriller show named ‘Bodkin’. This limited series has seven episodes in total. The series is created by Jez Schacf. The plot revolves around a podcaster and two journalists who go to explore a small town case. Bodkin, a place from Ireland reported the mysterious disappearance of multiple people two decades ago, the journalists and podcaster tried their best to find out the truth about the disappearance and made a podcast is the rest of the story.
Episode 7 opens with the arrival of the McCardle family into Bodkin. After long years of waiting, finally, they are back to take revenge on Seamus. The next scene opens at the police station where Dove and Gilbert are staying under the custody of Interpol. Gilbert is busy recording for the podcast, meanwhile, Dove is sleeping in front of him. After some time, Dove wakes up and explains about her case. Gilbert didn’t like the way she handled things back in her past.

They both ends up having extreme-level arguments. Suddenly the police come in and remove Gilbert from the prison. On the other side at Mrs O’Shea’s house, Seamus rushes inside and looks for Sean. Mrs O’Shea tells him to leave the house, Seamus mentions Sean as a thief who stole his consignment. Mrs O’Shea explains that Sean won’t commit such things at all. Seamus leaves the house in anger to kill Sean.
Meanwhile, Emmy hears everything and tries to console Mrs O’Shea. Emmy explains that she knows that Seamus is the real father of Sean. Mrs O’Shea gets shocked and tells her to keep it a secret. At the police station, Interpol is trying to transfer Dove, she hears them talking about catching Seamus. Suddenly, Dove interferes with the conversation and assures them that she will help them to catch Seamus. Later, Gilbert enters the house and hears the confession from Mrs O’Shea.
She promised Fiona that, she never tell Seamus about his son Sean. Gilbert records the confession in secret, but eventually, he promises that he won’t tell anyone else.
Dove goes to Seamus’s house to make him surrender. Suddenly McCardle’s family enters his house and starts looking for Seamus. Dove and Seamus hide in a secret room. McCardle’s family couldn’t find him but killed his favourite dog. After they leave the house, Seamus takes his belongings to leave the town. Later Dove reaches back to Sean’s house and she asks help from Gilbert.

He tells her that Sean is Seamus’s son. Dove requests him to stop Seamus from leaving the town, she tells him to call him immediately and let him know the truth. Seamus didn’t attend the calls initially so Gilbert texts him that he knows about Fiona. Immediately Seamus sends him the location and both of them meet. Gilbert confesses that Sean is the biological son of Seamus and Fiona. Seamus gets shocked at first and eventually accepts the truth.
Gilbert informs Seamus that Sean is on his way to deal with the Interpol and they should stop him sooner before getting caught. Dove secretly calls Interpol and informs them that Seamus is on his way to meet Sean. Later, Emmy goes to console Sean after the instructions from his mother. Emmy tries her best to make him stop the business, but he is adamant on doing business with the Japanese. He takes the truck to meet with them, Emmy hangs on the backside of the truck and informs Dove that Sean is on his way to the location.
Seamus confronts Sean and tells him that he is the biological father. Sean didn’t believe his words and kept shouting at him. His mother is also present at the place, Sean believes that he is Romanian.
Bodkin Ending Explained
Seamus kept saying that Sean is his own son and he knew it a few hours ago only. Sean’s mother tries to move Sean from the place, Seamus tries to shoot at his mother but suddenly Sean interferes in the middle and his thumb gets shot. Blood starts flowing out of Sean’s finger. Suddenly, Interpol arrives at the place, they try to lock Seamus, but he gets away with Gilbert by threatening him. Interpol cancels the deal with Dove, but Emmy threatens back with a fake recording.
After that Emmy and Dove go looking for Gilbert. Seamus takes Gilbert into a random and puts him as a hostage in the middle of a bomb set. Samhain festival is happening above the cave, Emmy and Dove try to rescue Gilbert and witness the bomb.

Emmy informs Fintan to stop the festival, but he refuses. Emmy seeks Teddy’s help and moves everyone into a distant place. Seamus is trying to escape through the sea but his enemies follow him. Suddenly the bomb blasts, and Emmy and Dove rush towards the cave to check up on Gilbert. Dove starts crying when she doesn’t see him, but suddenly Gilbert shows up in front of her and teases her for crying that much.
At the end of the episode, Gilbert records everything in his podcast and throws it into the lake. Emmy joins her office work and demands a promotion to Dove’s position. Dove left the town after resigning from her job and started her new podcast work at the orphanage where she lived in the past.
Overall the finale episode was just okay. The ending of the season doesn’t bring much curiosity or path-breaking twists. The last episode concluded everything about the twist elements and the finale looked very normal in the end.
