‘Eric’ Episode 3: Netflix Presents ‘Eric’, a psychological investigation thriller series. This limited series is one of the most popular releases from Netflix this year. The story deals with an investigation of the sudden disappearance of a kid named Edgar. The cops start investigating the missing case, and sudden behavioural changes in the parent’s behaviour make suspicion on them. The latter part of the series deals with the emotional changes happening around Edgar’s parents.
Episode 3 opens with the visuals of Edgar’s bag, scattered on the road as wide open. Next scene starts from Cassie, she raises an announcement of $25,000 reward on television, for the person who finds Edgar. Later she goes for a conversation with Vincent’s mother. She asks for money from his mother, unfortunately, Vincent’s mother is adamant on her old believes and ways. She didn’t want to give the money unless Vincent asked her directly.
Cassie starts expressing emotions, she takes the missing posters of her son and leaves the hotel. Meanwhile, Vincent is very much busy with his work at the office. He is keen on creating Eric’s character on his television show. His subordinates aren’t happy at all about the new addition. Eric starts explaining to him about the physical modifications on the toy.
Later that day, George gets free from jail after hours of interrogation. His legal representative blames the head of NYPD for putting her client in jail for hours without submitting any arrest warrant. On the other side, Vincent goes to a party conducted by his office management. He eventually starts drinking alcohol back to back, also he deliberately avoids the conversation with the political leaders.
Later they approach him and console him about the disappearance of his son. At the same time, Michael Ledroit has been enquiring about Vincent’s subordinate in front of the office. Vincent witnesses them talking and goes for a conversation with Michael Ledroit. During the conversation, Vincent finds out that he is the new suspect in Edgar’s disappearance. Eventually, Michael Ledroit arrests him and takes him to the police station.
Meanwhile, Cassie comes back home and witnesses a police vehicle outside her house. She thinks that the cops brought back Edgar. When she enters the house, the cops are searching the whole house after the arrest of Vincent. Later, Cassie goes to the police looking for her husband. She meets a lady in the waiting area of the police. The lady lost her son a long time ago, but still he didn’t come back home. She expresses her feelings to Cassie for some time.
Later, Cassie goes inside the police station to meet Vincent. In the interrogation room, Michael Ledroit starts asking questions about Vincent. The legal advisor of Vincent is also present inside the room.
Michael Ledroit shows them the visuals of Vincent and Edgar leaving the house. Minutes after Edgar left the house, Vincent followed him to the school. Vincent also confirms that he talked with Edgar for some time. He had a small argument with Edgar that day, he tore the clothes of Edgar and put it on waste disposal. Then he went to his office and stayed there the whole day. Michael Ledroit goes out for detailed research to find out the alibi.
Another detective finds out the visuals of Vincent dumping Edgar’s t-shirt and going for his work. Michael Ledroit confirms the surveillance footage and releases Vincent from police custody. Outside the station, a bunch of reporters waiting for Vincent’s words. One of the reporters says that Edgar would be dead by now, but it triggers Vincent.
The next day Vincent plans a meeting with company executive board members to introduce his new show based on Eric. He rushes towards the office with a physical toy of Eric. The board members get convinced after the detailed explanations from Vincent. They approve of his new idea of introducing a new character into the show. Later that day, Cassie meets her boyfriend at his workplace and asks him to help her find her son.
They ask everyone walking through the streets about Edgar. Meanwhile, Vincent goes to the club and takes drugs to forget about their worries. That night, Michael Ledroit and his co-worker go on a dinner date and end up kissing each other. Finally, Edgar is seen alive at the underground passage, where robbers and beggars usually live.
Overall the the third episode looks a little bit dragging. Some of the parts were very much exaggerated on the screenplay. The character arc of the main leads changes furiously. The end part of the episode was satisfying because Edgar is shown alive. Let’s see how it goes in the next episodes.
