House of Dragon Season 2 Episode 1 Recap and Explained : So here we are again with a new season of House of Dragon. It’s been almost two years since we had a Targaryen or a silver hair in sight. This new season picks up from the point we left it in season 1 and as we all were missing Winterfell so here it is. Season 2 of House of Dragons starts in House Stark’s icy home base where 10 men are being chosen to do the watch on the Wall. “The North must stand ready, Winter is coming”. Then there comes a Raven from Dragonstone informing about Laena’s death. In this article we have explained the Recap of House of Dragon Season 2 Episode 1 along with the ending explained.

Rhaenyra’s older son, Jacaerys negotiates with Cregan Stark to ally to aid his mother in the upcoming war. He then goes to the Wall to show that there are real greater threats in this world than just humans and winter. On the other side, Alicent and Criston Cole’s relationship has certainly heated up after the end of Season 1. In this season, we can see the two are now taking regular breaks from their duties around the Red Keep to meet and hook up.

House of Dragon Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

In the next scene, we can see a small council is organized. They are tense due to the blockade of Rhaenyra as the King’s landing is in danger due to this. And now they want to counter this at the earliest. They are trying to come up with an action plan to protect the King’s Landing. After this, they organize a Janta Darbar where the king tries to understand how kingmanship should be. Aegon interacts with the smallfolk, and similar to his father he tries his best to treat them with honour & generosity.

After this, we see Otto having a conversation with his daughter, Alicent, who wants victory and by that, she means Rhaenyra bending the knee and Aegon becoming the king but she is facing challenges in doing so hence she tells her father to value her words and be by her side.

At the start of season 2, Queen Rhaenyra is missing from Dragonstone. She went out with her dragon, Syrax had been gone for a while now and no one knew where she was or how she was. Later we can see, she’s looking around the coastline around Shipbreaker’s Bay trying to find a sign of Arrax or Luke. She never believed that her son was dead until she won’t see any evidence. Eventually, she spots a group of men pulling something large out of the ocean tangled in a net.

She flies down to discover that it’s one of Arrax’s wings. It’s the sign she was searching for she and Syrax mourn together for the first time. Then she heads back to Dragonstone ready for her revenge. Jace finally returns and remembers this is the first time he meets Rhaenyra since Lucerys’ death and eventually break down in each other’s arms. Then the family holds a proper funeral for Lucerys on the top of Dragonstone.

Rhaenyra wants Aemond’s life as revenge for Luke’s death, a son for a son as the episode title suggests. In the King’s Landing, Blood and Cheese, who knows how to get in and out of the Red Keep goes on a mission to kill Aemond, the next upcoming King. While searching for him, they end up stumbling into Helaena with her and King Aegon II’s 6-year-old twins, Prince Jaehaerys & Princess Jaehaera.

Both the kids were sleeping so Blood and Cheese force the queen at knifepoint to tell which of the twins is the boy – the king’s heir which she eventually does.
