Everyone talks about the hits, and no one discusses the failure. Below we present a list of films that turned out to be as worst films of Nicolas Cage. Now when we talk about wort, I really mean it. These films are difficult to watch even though you are a Nicolas fan. Let’s begin the list:
The Humanity Bureau
A Canadian film based on sci-fi and thriller which was directed by Rob W. King and written by Jakob Davies is so miserable that we can’t think of any other name when we talk about the worst film of Nicolas ever. The film also stars Hugh Dillon, Sarah Lind and Jakob Davies along with Nicolas. This film made its way to the silver screen on 6th April 2018 under the banner of Mind’s Eye Entertainment and proved to be one of the most nonsensical sci-fi movie ever made. This film is not just bad for Cage, but it’s bad as a whole and makes it difficult to sit through the entire story.
The story of the film revolves around a series of environmental disasters that turned the world upside down in the year 2030. Although most sci-fi films are exciting not this one. This film felt like the makers tried to bring out the excitement but totally failed to write a compelling story for it. Apart from these 7, if you have more names that shouldn’t be recommended to others, do let us know in the comments and help save the community from such disasters.
211
Released in 2018, directed by York Alec Shackleton was a film based on a bank heist but unfortunately it was such a forgettable film that no one tries to recall the title either. It was a low-budget film which proved to be the worst deal signed by Nicolas in 2010. The story of the film revolves around a stand-off between the police and the robbers. It happens when an aging cop along with his partner goes for a patrol and they encounter a few former mercenaries trying to rob a bank.
The overall story of the film bores you to the maximum and adding further to it, you can see other casts showing less effort in their acting as in the initial scene itself you can see a woman writing on the keyboard where she doesn’t even try to hit the actual keys and this was clearly shown with a close up shot of it. It seems like all together, there were enough reasons why it was a flop. Now, this film is at number 10 because we have a more merciless lineup of his worst films ever.
Left Behind
You might have heard of positive word of mouth among audiences which further benefits the film revenue but have you heard a film such bad that it has received a below 10% score on Rotten Tomatoes? Directed by Vic Armstrong, Left Behind is another thriller film starring Nicolas Cage which proves to be one of the worst films created, receiving a 0% score in Rotten Tomatoes. This score clearly indicated that out of all the viewers who gave a review for the film, none of them felt positive about the story or the film and neither they felt like recommending it to someone.
Some even claimed it to be the worst film ever done by Nicolas to date but we have number 1 place reserved for it. If we talk about this film then most of the scenes of the movie were shot on an airplane during a mysterious rapture. Although the cast tries to bring some thrill and excitement at a few points the overall story itself makes it even and makes it truly a rare bad feeling when looking for some of the worst films by Nicolas Cage.

Pay the Ghost
Director by Uli Edel, the story of the film is based on a short story of the same name by Tim Lebbon and made its way to the silver screen on 16th Sept 2015. Again, please don’t get confused with this film and ‘Running with the Devil’ as both film has two things in common. Firstly, in both, we can see Nicolas in the main frame and secondly, both the film holds a pretty bad story. With a total runtime of 94 minutes, this film is one of the very few films that Nicolas has done with a serious tone and with supernatural horror theme but still, it stays as a forgettable title for the audience.
In this film, we even have Horror comedies like Renfield the entire film can’t be just saved by him. This film can be one of the reasons to prove that why Cage should do most supernatural-based horror films. Along with Nicolas Cage, we can also spot Sarah Wayne Callies, Veronica Ferres, Lyriq Bent, Kalie Hunter and Lauren Beatty in the cast.
Willy’s Wonderland
Directed by Kevin Lewis and released in 2021, the film had a huge expectation when it was just on paper as the story and dialogues seemed to be great. What possible could go wrong then if we have a great actor like Nicolas Cage? Well, the answer is its execution, which might leave you in shock.
In the film, Nicolas finds himself in a small remote town when his car has a breakdown. In exchange for the repair he received for his car, he agreed to stay overnight at Will’s Wonderland and clean the place but this place has it’s own dark secrets which soon makes him realise that he is trapped inside the place and then starts the epic battle between him and possessed animated characters. In the entire movie, he fights with them in order to survive.
It might sound interesting but after a point, the story becomes repetitive and ends without a proper conclusion. With a total runtime of 88 minutes, the film also includes Emily Tosta, Ric Reitz and Beth Grant along with Cage.
Running with the Devil
A directorial debut film by Jason Cabell who is also the writer of it released this film in 2019 starring Nicolas Cage in the lead role along with Laurence Fishburne, Leslie Bibb and Barry Pepper. Undoubtedly, this film has wasted both Nicolas Cage’s and The Matrix’s Laurence Fishburne’s talent as they are some of the most renounced actors of their age. An American crime, thriller-based film that involves a series of events that revolves around the cocaine mafia where one of their shipment gets compromised due to which the leader of the drug cartel sends his men to check out what went wrong.
In the film, you can see many new characters with Cage playing as “The Cook” and Fishburne as “The Man” and the rest of everyone trying to put in some effort but they manage to look uninteresting in the story although they receive the end credits. You can easily sense that the flow is missing in the story and there isn’t much thriller or suspense in a thriller-based film. Although we know Nicolas has great skill in acting in this film he seems to be dull towards his role which makes it even harder for his fans to recommend this film to their knowns.
With a total runtime of 100 mins, this film still remains as the most non-recommendable film of Nicolas Cage with him being in the centre of it.
