Nobody Wants This Ending Explained: A rollercoaster ride of an episode, the final instalment in the miniseries begins with Noah and Joanne’s little love bubble, threatening to be burst by Miriam’s bat mitzvah party. With Bina, Rebecca and Joanne being in the same spot, trouble is sure to arise. To avoid any further distress, Joanna fakes the onset of a fever to get out of attending the party.
Joanne and her friends discuss converting to Judaism, and Noah and Sasha discuss how crucial her conversion is to his promotion. At the recording of a new podcast episode, Joanne and Morgan continue bickering until Morgan gets a phone call from Sasha. Joanne asks her to put the phone on speaker, and it is revealed that Rebecca lied to Morgan in order to break up the couple. Joanne apologizes profusely to Morgan for doubting her intentions and the sisters patch things up.
Morgan forces Joanne to attend the bat mitzvah and the two make a grand entry at the party. Noah, excited to see his lady-love embraces her as Joanne surprises him with the news of agreeing to convert to Judaism. However, Bina is not delighted to hear the news, as she has secretly been rooting for Rebecca all along. The couple celebrates as Joanne is introduced to all the fun rituals at the bat mitzvah.

Morgan bumps into Rebecca and confesses that Sasha told her the truth about her made-up lies. The sisters light the party up with their moves. During a slow, romantic song, Noah interjects and dances with Joanne. He hopes that she made her decision not only for him but also for herself. The two get excited about picking a new Hebrew name for Joanne.
As Noah blesses Miriam for her new life ahead, an emotional Rebecca is drawn to tears and leaves the party. Joanne follows her and the two admit to being obsessively aware of each other. She regrets breaking up with Noah and wishes Joanne the best as she lives out Rebecca’s dream of being the wife of a head rabbi. She also warns Joanne of the importance of her role as setting an example for the people. Joanne feels a little daunted by the responsibilities, and how they mean so little to her but so much to Rebecca.
Morgan thanks Sasha for telling her the truth and being a good friend, which catches the eye of Esther and Bina who think of it as suspicious behaviour. In the bathroom, Esther catches Miriam chopping off her dress, and in an emotional mother-daughter moment apologises for not listening to her wishes before. The two cut off the dress and return to the party.
Noah gets a confirmation of his promotion by the head rabbi. He runs to find Joanne and tells her of the news. The two confess their love for each other. However, Joanne admits that she cannot convert to Judaism because she feels she would be untrue to both herself and to Noah. She hated that he had to choose between either staying with her or preaching Judaism and makes his dilemma easier. They mutually decide to break things off and Joanne leaves, asking Noah not to follow her.

As she gets dropped off by the shuttle, she finds Noah waiting for her outside, having chased her all this while. He agrees that he cannot have both, the relationship and the job, and seals his decision with a kiss, hinting at what he finally chose. While the episode, and in turn the miniseries ends on an ambiguous note, the kiss signifies that he picked Joanne over the job of the head rabbi.
